According to Twelver Shia doctrine, he entered a minor occultation after his father's death, followed by the major occultation in 329 AH. He is believed to be alive, concealed by divine will, until God permits his reappearance to fill the earth with justice after it has been filled with oppression. Dua al-Nudba is among the supplications especially associated with him.
